Biography

Young lyric soprano Elizabeth Pacheco Rose possesses an alluring stage presence with dramatic flexibility; whether singing Mimi, Pamina or Mélisande, she captures the essence of each role. Her repertoire encompasses a wide range of works from Baroque to Contemporary music. With a warm, radiant and richly expressive voice, she excels on the operatic stage, as well as in concert and recital venues.

Among Elizabeth's operatic performances are appearances as Blanche in Dialogues des Carmélites, Roselinde in Die Fledermaus, Mimì in La Bohème, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and Mélisande in Pelléas et Mélisande and Abigail in Robert Ward's The Crucible recently in Tel Aviv, Israel. Her many concert appearances have included Handel's Messiah, Faurè's Requiem, Mozart's Missa Brevis, K.192 & Vesperae Solemnes de Confessore, K339 and Beethoven's 9th Symphony with orchestras such as the Orquesta Sinfónica de Puerto Rico, Northwest Florida Symphony and the Southwestern Michigan Symphony.

Recent engagements include Samuel Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Puerto Rico and conductor, Guillermo Figueroa; Micäela in a Carmen highlights concert with conductor, Luis Biava; the lead role of Eleonora in Salieri's opera, Prima la musica e poi le parole at the Centro de Bellas Artes in San Juan, Puerto Rico; Pablo Luna's zarzuela El asombro de Damasco; Villa-lobos' Bachianas Brasileiras No.5 for soprano and 8 cellos and an engagement with the Pablo Casals Festival.

Elizabeth recently returned from England where she performed recitals as part of the Aldeburgh Music Festival's prestigious Britten-Pears Programme. She is a frequent recitalist with upcoming recital engagements in Mexico, Puerto Rico and the USA.

A Northern Virginia native, she studied at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with Barbara Honn. Previous to this she lived in Italy, where she studied and performed in Europe. She was awarded a Master's Degree in Music, Vocal Performance from the University of Illinois, Urbana and a Bachelor's Degree in Music, Vocal Performance from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She has performed with the Aspen Music Festival, Utah Festival Opera Company and Lyric Colorado Opera Festival.

Elizabeth was a finalist in the Palm Beach Atlantic National Vocal Competition and the 'Neue Stimmen' Carl Bertelsmann Foundation (BMG) International Singing Competition in Gütersloh, Germany. She was then invited to return to Germany by Bertelsmann for the 'Neue Stimmen' 4th Annual Masterclass series where she performed a concert of arias and scenes. She won first place in the Allied Arts, Inc. Art Song Competition in Denver and won the 'Best Operatic Performance of the Year' Award for her performance of Tytania in A Midsummer Night's Dream while in Colorado.
