35 weeks

October 10th, 2006

I am 35 weeks pregnant and HUGE! I have no idea how I will make it to my due date of Nov. 15th. Maybe it’s just the Puerto Rico heat and being so uncomfortable, but I’m starting to feel very strongly that I want my body back and for him to be here. Overall we are so fine though and more excited than ever to meet this little man. :)
At our appointment last Friday he measured right on target…. so he is approximately 5-6 lbs. and between 18-20 inches long! He is putting on an average of a 1/2 lb. per week now….heaven help me! His organs are almost mature and his lungs are almost fully developed, but if he were to be born now he would probably have to be put in an incubator. He still doesn’t have enough fat deposits beneath his skin to keep him warm outside of the uterus - so he needs to stay in the rice cooker a bit longer. His brain is developing rapidly and he’s practicing blinking. He’s dropping lower in my tummy and feels to be in the head-down position. He’s still moving a lot and is very active throughout the day. Last weekend he moved strongly throughout Saxton’s entire 3 hour symphony concert - incredible….We are very blessed and grateful to have him and look very forward to his arrival soon.

Elizabeth, you are glowing with life! Of course you want your body back, but this is just the beginning of a new adventure. I always said I couldn’t take anymore when I was having Morgan, and of course I could. You will be amazed at your inner strength. God makes it this way, so that we are truly ready to go through our labor of love to bring this miracle into the world. I gained 53 pounds with Morgan more than half of my 95 pound body weight, and I did deliver her naturally! Being a mother is the ultimate gift in life. Enjoy the last few weeks of feeling your son inside of you. You will miss being pregnant after you have given birth. (Although it might take a while):) Blessings to you and your unborn baby. Stay well my friend. Lots of love to you all. Marsha

    Dearest Elizabeth,
You look so beautiful-I would love to see you in that red dress now! Hang in there…not long to go now. Just try and stay in the cool, and I can’t wait to see a picture of your little man.
    Viele Liebe aus Koeln,
    Anita

All the best for the coming birth. Almost any day now I heard from Saxton.
I just wonder if your son will soon use his vocal cords (no doubt very strong) to make his parents extremely proud of him, specially during nights!
Elizabeth you look very ripe! and beautiful.
For both of you my best wishes for lots of happiness to come..
